Boy does time fly - it seems like yesterday we were waiting in the hospital for them to be born!

This is the beautiful cloth and awesome package I received from memeto12 in the Dishcloth Dozen swap. I will post a picture of the cute sewing tin she sent me in my next post. I am hiding it from granddaughter # 3. She keeps trying to take it home!

This beautiful cloth is from Guiness Goddess - as you can see it is one of my favorite things - a lighthouse dishcloth! The chocolates are also one of my favorite things - yummmm.

This picture of all 11 cloths does not do justice to the wonderful work everyone did! I will be posting a better picture soon - of all the cloths hanging up on a mini clothesline with my mimi clothes pins!

This is a picture of the great goodies sent to me by Nell/ChickenKnits from CA for the Starbucks and Coffee swap for Ravelry! Do you see the fantastic skein of Chocolate yarn! Isn't it beautiful! Looks like Hershey bar! It will make a great neckwarmer or scarf to go with my brown suede jacket!

She also included some Ghiradelli chocolates and hot cocoa - MMMMMM!

There is a mug to put my hot cocoa in and some biscotti to have with it! Also a gift certificate to Starbucks - yeah - more salted caramel hot chocolate! There is also a cute little sheep who I had to rescue - my granddaughters wanted to take it home! Luckily I was able to save it for myself! I did share the chocolates and hot cocoa!

Nell also made me these beautiful cup cozies. I am already using the purple one and have gotten lots of compliments! My daughter is using the pink one. I have hidden the last one for my future use!

I received this lovely washcloth from Michelle from Ohio in my package for the All Hallow's eve package.. Isn't it pretty! Perfect for the holiday season!

She also sent me the goodies in this picture. The handpainted yarn is one of my favorites from Cherry Tree Hill. The colors are awesome! Have to come up with something special to make from this yarn! There is some vanilla body wash, chocolate(yum), tissues and pops (which I will share)for the kids!

Late Post Red Sox take ALDS against LAAngels

Monday October 6th 2008. Game 4 of the ALDS Red Sox vs LA Angels

Awesome! First playoff game ever - 11th game at Fenway this year. They have won all 11 games I have been to at Fenway and won the 2 games I saw at Camden Yard.

Congratulations to the team!

Great job by Jon Lester and team! Bring on the Rays!

Time to go watch them play on tv - we will be in Fenway for game 3 on Monday afternoon! YEAH!!!! Lester pitching again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad it is an afternoon game - we didn't get home until 230am after Monday night game and I had to be up at 530 for work - it was a very long day!

Stopped to get an xlg hot chocolate at Starbucks to help me get moving - boy did that make my heart race! I was afraid to sit down all day - 3 hours of sleep makes me a little tired!

No knitting done at the game - I brought it with me but was up and down all night with the crowd so had to put it away! The crowd was a lot tenser than during the regular season! But it was an awesome feeling to be there for the win!

Mets Stitch n Pitch 9/25/08

Big adventure to NYC for hr Mets Stitch n Pitch game. A couple friends and I took the train then the subway to Shea stadium to watch the Cubs play the Mets for the Stitch N Pitch game. We had a great time.

Here is Lily Chin in a Mets uniform she knitted holding a crocheted baseball and glove and also wearing a crocheted baseball hat. Wow, a lot of work went in to this uniform! I won a raffle prize of one of her books. Knitting and Crocheting with beads. Very nice book.

This is a picture of the goody bag we received from Nancy O Boutique in Ridgefield where we bought our tickets. Lots of nice things. Some really nice patterns to try. Nancy O even added some very pretty shawl sticks. Her store is worth the trip to see. Very nice and very friendly!

This is Kay Gardiner from the Mason - Dixon knitting blog and books. She was awesome to talk to . I have ordered their new book - she had some of the projects displayed and they were great. The scarf she has on was knitted by Lily Chin - it is a baseball scarf - very cute!

It did start to rain and we left after the 6th inning but had a great time and can't wait to go again next year!

I even got to meet Janice - a new friend from the Dish Rag Tag who lives in Long Island. We met up at the game - very nice to meet a swap friend! in person! She gave me the cutest angel pin which is now on my Red Sox bag to bring them good luck tonight in the playoffs!

I went to 2 Stitch n Pitch games this year. One in Bridgeport in June and this one at Shea in Sept. and they were both great. If you get the chance to go to a game - DO IT! You won't be sorry!

This is the butterfly wash cloth I made our niece for her birthday. Difficult to get a good picture of design. It is made from Fantasy Naturale and is just knit/purl.

This is the bag I made for my BF sister for her birthday. It is also from Fantasy Naturale and is a free Bernat pattern. It is a very easy crochet pattern.

This is the dishcloth for a swap. Again knitted but this time with Sugar and Cream. Very easy knits/purls.

These are legwarmers for princess number 2. I need to make a pair for her sister - princess number 4. Luckily they have very short legs! I used TLC Cotton Plus and 10 rows 3x3 ribbing, 20 rows stockinette, 10 rows 3x3 ribing. Cast on 30 st to start.

Last but not least - this is the Red Sox good luck charm I knitted for a swap. Can't wait to make one for me! The white item in the background is a baby blanket with Wendy Velvet touch. It actually has little bits of pastel colors in it. I will take a better picture when it is finished - hopefully soon.
I have been very lax lately about posting. I have more pictures to post of my trip to Cape Cod, trip to Mets Stitch Pitch at Shea and lots more to post about!

Will start with a little at a time.

Ravelry Red Sox T shirt Swap Package

These are the great goodies I received today from Kate for the Red Sox T shirt swap.

The t shirt is fantastic! It is a Pawtucket Red Sox t shirt. It has the box scores from the longest baseball game played! What a great idea! They played the Rochester Red Devils.

This is the WPI (wrap per inch) tool she sent. Isn't it cute! I will be keeping it close during the playoffs for luck!

These are the other goodies she sent. The yarn is very soft and the perfect color to make some mini socks - for good luck charms! They are a warm red - very pretty! There is a sticker, splatter ball (looks like fun), some needle inventory cards (very good idea), tape measure, notebook, hand lotion and a dark chocolate bar (MMMM).

Thank you very much OTKATE! I love this package. Can't wait to start knitting those little socks while I watch the Sox play in the postseason!

New Red Sox Goodies!

Isn't this the cutest bear - he plays music - Dropkick Murphy's music! He also dances a little jig while the music plays!

The Red Sox bag is great - it has Dustin's number. They also sell them with Pap or Becketts's numbers. Great way to carry my knitting!

I found the bag at Modell's and the bear at IParty. I treated myself!

All Hallows Eve Dishcloth Exchange

My Questionnaire:

1. I have been knitting and crocheting for over 20 years.

2. I use all kinds of needles. It depends on the type of yarn or project I am doing. I don't use long straight needles very often any more. I use mostly short straight/dpn needles or circulars. I DON'T like BOYE brand. Use just about any other brand.

3.I like to make small items that I can carry along. Dishcloths, scarves, leg warmers, bags, an occasional baby afghan or sweater.

4. I don't have a favorite pattern. I like to use patterns appropriate for the recipient/occasion

5. I love "stuff". I have all sorts of notions. I love to try out new things. I am also a "bag addict". I buy new project bags all the time. Just can't help myself!

6. Wendy's Velvet Touch is my favorite. I like to felt so wools/alpaca are always welcome in my stash! I love to make dishcloths so cottons are another favorite in my stash. I like "soft" yarns. Dislike Lopi, fun fur, scratchy yarns. New yarn from Peter Pan/Wendy called Tinkerbell is very soft - bought some for my stash but haven't tried it yet. I think it will be a favorite!

7. Love purple but knit with all colors. Depends on who/where the item is for.

8. I use lots of cottons. Fantasy Naturale, Sugar and Cream, Peaches and Cream, Lion Brand, Bernat Cotton -- you name it -- I use it. I use both solids and multicolored skeins.

9. I like most scents except for citrus.

10. I think witches are the most "Halloweeney"

11. Love chocolate and salty things -

12. My favorite costume was a cowgirl! I wanted to be Annie Oakley ! I had the rifle, 6 shooters, boots and everything - wore them all the time not just Halloween! Luckily I found another line of work - one of the few times I rode a horse I got thrown!

DISH RAG TAG - PACKAGE HAS COME AND GONE!

PACKAGE ARRIVES 2:30.

THEN I LOGGED IN AND ACKNOWLEDGED RECEIVING THE PACKAGE

UNPACKED THE BOX - JANICE MADE ME A BEAUTIFUL DISH RAG. IT REMINDS ME OF SHERBERT! SHE ALSO SENT ME SOME TEA BAGS AND SENT MY KITTY SOME NEW TOYS! THERE IS ALSO A CUTE CD OF ANIMAL STORIES BY JAMES HERRIOT'S TO SHARE WITH MY GRANDKIDS! ONLY HAD A MINUTE TO CHECK IT OUT BECAUSE I NEEDED TO GET KNITTING!

I QUICKLY MADE A COPY OF THE PATTERN AND DIRECTIONS THEN PUT THE ORIGINALS BACK IN THE BOX. I PUT IN THE GOODIES I HAD COLLECTED AND A NEW SKEIN OF YARN. THEN I SAT DOWN TO KNIT AT 2:40. BOY! DID MY AFTERNOON FLY!

I FINISHED AT 5:30. DECIDED TO CHANGE THE YARN I WAS SENDING TO THE NEXT KNITTER. THE ONE I PUT IN THE BOX WAS FANTASY NATURALE AND NEEDS TO BE ROLLED OR WOUND AND I KNEW THE CHERYL DIDN'T NEED THAT HEADACHE! I NEVER THOUGHT TO WIND IT AHEAD OF TIME. SO, I SWITCHED THE YARN THEN LOGGED IN TAGGED CHERYL AND TRIED TO PRINT A LABEL. UGH! 4 TRIES AND NO LABEL. SO I HAND PRINTED ONE AND TAPED IT TO THE BOX WHILE MY DAUGHTER GOT THE CAR.

WE HAD TO DRIVE CROSS TOWN - NOT AN EASY THING TO DO AT THAT TIME OF DAY! WE HAD 20 MINUTES TO GET THERE. WE PASSED 2 POLICE CARS SITTING LOOKING FOR SPEEDERS/DUI FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND.

GOT TO THE POST OFFICE JUST IN THE KNICK OF TIME! POSTMARKED AT 5:52. WE HAD 8 MINUTES TO SPARE!

WHEN WE GOT BACK HOME MY BOYFRIEND SAID THE LABEL PRINTED 5 MINUTES AFTER WE LEFT!

I LOGGED IN AGAIN AND ENTERED THE TRACKING NUMBER AND DATE!

I AM FINISHED! YOUR TURN NOW CHERYL - GOOD LUCK!

Special Olympics Challenge

Check out this site for a Special Olympics challenge!

They need scarves for all the athletes and would like them all to be knitted or crocheted from Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in white and Delft blue.

I found the yarn at Walmart - Michaels had lt blue, country blue and dutch blue but not Delft blue.

You can use one of their free patterns or any other pattern you like. Need to be done by 1/09.

Waiting ( not patiently!) for my turn in the Dish Rag Tag! The box is in WA with Deb and has 2 more stops before it reaches me!

This is my first time doing a tag.

There are 24 teams of 12 knitters who will each get a turn to receive the "baton".

A box with a skein of cotton yarn, a pattern to knit a dishrag from the enclosed yarn to send to the next team member and a finished dishrag and surprise to keep!

You need to knit the dishrag ASAP and get it in the mail to the next team member. First team to have all members pass the baton along to its final destination wins!

Can't wait to get my turn. Should be here early in the week. No sleep that night!

I am also waiting for my invitation to join Ravelry. I finally decided to join. Not sure how involved I can get at the present but thought it was about time I joined!

We will be going to Maine this weekend to a 70th birthday party for my BF's uncle. We will be in the Harpswell area. I have only been there once before. We will actually be staying on a naval base in Brunswick. I hope the weather stays nice - the party is outside on Saturday. There is a lobster dinner on Friday night and a brunch on Sunday. Should be fun!

Look at the pretty packages that I received from my Summer of Yarn Love secret pal for my 3rd package! She is no longer a secret pal! Amy - the swap co ordinator is my super pal. She is busy getting ready for her upcoming wedding but still found time to send me 3 wonderful packages!

As you can see she sent me some great goodies!

There is a cute memo pad and note book - with my favorite - lighthouses on it.

The potholders are really nice. To pretty to use. I think I will put them on the wall above my stove to show them off! I actually have a scrub top and stethoscope cover in the same fabric :).

They are from an Etsy shop called Craftysandy.

The sunglass cover is so cute! She got it from an Etsy shop called Doodlebug Quilts! I call my granddaughters Doodlebugs all the time!

These are the beautiful yarns! The Cascade looks blue but is actually shades of purple/lavender. Very nice!

The purple on the right is some fantastic Malabrigo. I have 2 skeins of the same shade that I received in another swap - from Chan - and can't wait to find a pattern for it!

I love all the things Amy has sent me this summer. The 3 packages have helped brighten my summer! This has been a great swap!

Wow! I haven't blogged in a very long time! July just flew by and August is doing the same!

I received the award above from Laurie C.

She was my partner in my first knitted bag swap and we have remained email and blog buddies ever since. Thank you Laurie! I will post my nominees for the award later this evening or tomorrow. Need to do some research!

I signed up for a Dishrag Tag! Sounds like fun. I will receive a package from a team mate who will send me a knitted dishrag, a skein of yarn, a dishrag pattern chosen by our hostess,and a special gift. I need to knit the dishrag ASAP and mail it to the next team member with another skein of yarn and the pattern and a gift. Hope I get the pattern right the first time! You can see more details and follow our progress at the dishrag tag site. I am on the Dishrag Divas team! I haven't done anything like this before so it will be interesting to see how it goes! AWESOME VACATION - WEATHER WAS GREAT - BEACHES WERE AWESOME - WHALE WATCH FANTASTIC!

I DID MANAGE TO GET SOME KNITTING DONE. I FINISHED 2 CROCHETED MARKET BAGS - NICE AND EASY TO DO - VERY QUICK ALSO! GOOD BEACH PROJECT. I SPEND A LOT OF TIME PEOPLE AND WAVE WATCHING SO NEED AND EASY PROJECT!

THE WAVES WERE AWESOME! I AM NOT A STRONG SWIMMER BUT LOVE TO SIT ON THE BEACH AND LISTEN TO THE WAVES. THE WERE ROARING ALL WEEK. HURRICANE BERTHA WAS OFF THE COAST AND IT WAS A FULL MOON DURING THE WEEK SO THE WAVES WERE HUGE! BF DID BOOGIE BOARD THE FIRST FEW DAYS BUT OUR LAST DAY THERE NO ONE WAS BRAVING THE WAVES - THEY WERE TOO DANGEROUS. BEAUTIFUL TO WATCH!

WE WENT ON A SUNSET WHALE WATCH AND IT WAS FANTASTIC! WE SAW SO MANY HUMPBACK WHALES - THEY WERE ALL AROUND US FEEDING. YOU USUALLY HAVE TO GO OUT ABOUT AN HOUR FROM THE HARBOR BUT WE WERE ONLY OUT ABOUT 20 MINUTES WHEN WE FOUND THEM! WE COULD STILL SEE THE SHORE!

THEY WERE ROLLING AROUND IN THE WATER, SLAPPING THEIR TALES TO SCARE THE FISH AND COMING UP FROM UNDER THE FISH TO CATCH THEM - IT WAS AWESOME. I WILL TRY TO UPLOAD A VIDEO OF THEM LATER.

NOT THE BEST PICTURE BUT THIS WAS OUR VIEW ON THE WAY BACK IN TO THE HARBOR AFTER WATCHING THE WHALES FEED FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS!

WE HAD A GREAT TIME. HOPE TO BE ABLE TO GO BACK AGAIN SOON!

Red Sox games were great start to vacation!

Tim Wakefield pitched a great game on Saturday night! Lots of hitting action also!

Red Sox win 12-1 -- YEAH!!

Jonathan Papelbon saved his 100th game on Sunday afternoon in a very long game!

Game took forever - Dice - K not the fastest pitcher! But a win is a win! And this one was my 12th game and 12th win this year! I did not see the Sox lose this year! Now I need more tickets so I can keep my winning streak going!

Wow, this swap went by fast! My dishcloth package is almost finished. Should go out on Monday or Tuesday.

I picked 2 blogs for this topic of checking out and sharing some of the bloggers in this swap that we liked. There were lots of great blogs but these 2 stuck in my mind.

The first is Ariel's blog. Her name jumped out at me since we recently saw The Little Mermaid and Ariel is one of my granddaughters favorites. She had a picture of 2 beautiful dishcloths. Very pretty! I usually don't like yellow but these dishcloths could win me over! They looked so summery. Very nice job!

The second is a blog I visit often. Mary B has a great blog that always cheers me up! She does great crocheted projects and has begun knitting recently and making really nice things! Her pictures of her dogs always make me smile!

The last 2 weeks have been a blur! Will try to catch up in this post!

This is princess # 1 at her recital. Very cute! Teacher quit 2 weeks before the recital but the little ones came thru!

Later the same day princess # 2 had her recital! Another cutie!

Princess #1 went to a minor league Stitch n Pitch game with me. Rained out after 3 innings but the goody bags were awesome! I got NINE bags of yarn, patterns, needles and notions. Will post pictures soon! If a Stitch n Pitch game comes your way don't pass up the chance to see it! Over 20 companies, including WEBS and Berocco, donated yarn and "stuff".

Spent a couple days at the beach with princess #2 and #4 and their mom. Great time - weather perfect - water ice cold! Girls conned Grandma into getting in the water with them BRRRR!

Will be going back for a few days this coming week to spend time with the grandkids. Should be fun! They all love the water!

In between the recitals and this week's upcoming trip I went to Boston twice and saw the red Sox win each time - last game was a come from behind win! I have not seen them lose this year. I have 2 more games to go to this season!

I also went to a 75th birthday dinner and a Billy Joel concert! Great concert! I have seen him before and he always puts on a fantastic show!. I have been to a birthday party for one of our nieces and another for a granddaughter! Has been a very busy couple of weeks. I did manage to get some knitting done - not as much as I would like but if I have to choose between freezing water with grandkids or knitting - the knitting loses every time!

I will get to spend some more time on the beach with them the beginning of next week. Then I will be going back to the beach with my BF for the following week for our vacation! Should be able to get in plenty of knitting that week!

I need to get 2 swap packages out in the next week! The dishcloth swap and the summer of yarn swap packages need to go out before vacation! The Starbucks swap can wait until I return! It doesn't have to go out until August! WHEW! I am going to be busy!

Am almost finished with the second leg warmer for princess # 1. Should finish that tonight and then can finish my dishcloth for the swap. I tried a new pattern but it wasn't working for me. Now in the frog pond and time to find a new pattern.

Time to go knit - will post FO soon!

My favorite way to keep cool is to sit on a beach - preferably on Cape Cod - drinking a frozen hot chocolate! MMMMMMMM!

Fantastic package from Summer of Yarn Love Swap secret pal!

I got home from work at 1130 pm on Sat night and found this awesome package waiting for me. What a nice package to come home to! It is the first of 3 packages from my Summer of yarn Love secret pal. She sent me an awesome 1st package!

This is the gifts unwrapped. Aren't they great! There is a cute memo pad with pen that I can't wait to use.

There are some cute ring stitch markers in nice bright purple and green - much easier to find when I drop them! And they come in lots of sizes.

There is a Knit Chek which always comes in handy when I pull out a circular needle and have NO IDEA what size it is - or just want to check how many more inches I need to knit before I can go to bed!

There is a toy for Scoochie - you can see her playing with it in another picture in this post. She loves it!

I love the CD she made me! Great songs with many of my favorites! Great selection of songs! Songs from BRUCE, The Band , Simon and Garfunkle, Blood Sweat and Tears, John Denver, Meatloaf and more. What a great idea! I can't wait to add it to my IPOD! It even has Johnny Cash singing If I were a Carpenter with June! LOVE IT!!

This is a close up of the yarn and pattern she sent me! I love the colors of the yarn. It is Ultra Alpaca from Berocco. Very soft! It is hard to see but it is a combination of all my favorites. When you see it in person you can see all the jewel tones blended together. Purple, red, blue, gold - really pretty! And the pattern is awesome It is a lace scarf - looks like the perfect project for a lace beginner like me. Pattern says it takes 4 hours - I am not a fast knitter so it will probably take me longer but it looks like a project I can handle!

And here is the picture of Scoochie playing with her new toy - she loves it! She was rolling all over the floor with it!

Thank you again to my secret pal! Can't wait for my next package! It will be like Christmas in July! Your package was the perfect treat to come home to after a very long day!

Quick post - busy week!

Went to Boston on Thursday - saw the Red Sox win again! We have seen them win all 9 games we have attended. This time they won 9-2! Mike Lowell hit a grand slam!

Yeah!!!! Sorry, no pictures. I forgot my camera!

One leg warmer finished and 1 more leg to go and my granddaughter will have her requested pair! Will post picture when it is finished.

Working on swap packages. Got some things this week I think they will like.

Will try to remember to take a picture before the packages go out. Usually forget to take one of out going packages.

2 granddaughters had recitals yesterday. Will post pictures asap.

Keeping cool in the summertime dishcloth swap week #1 question

This is one of the dishcloths I have made. I am not always good about taking pictures of the things I finish.

This is made from one of my favorite yarns - Fantasy Naturale. The colors are ones I enjoy knitting with!

Most of the time I make a very basic pattern. Start with 4 stitches, knit every row inc 1 stitch in 2nd stitch of each row until I like the size, then dec in the 3rd stitch in every row until I am back to 4 st. Great pattern because I can knit it anywhere - needs very little concentration.

I like to work on these at baseball games. My boy friend and son-in-law tell me it is embarrassing but I think baseball is the best sport to knit while watching. I will be going to a Stitch n Pitch games at a local minor league game with my granddaughter this Sunday. She isn't embarrassed when Grandma knits!

1. I knit and crochet. I have been crocheting for over 30 years and knitting for over 20 years.

2. I use all types of needles. Mostly circular and DPN for knitting and any type crochet hook except for BOYE brand. I have metal Addi Turbos, KnitPick Harmony needles, Crystal Palace bamboo, Clover bamboo and many other brands. I use some short plastic children's straight needles for my dishcloths. Don't use many straight needles any more but still have some.

3. My favorite yarn is Wendy's Velvet Touch. It is great for baby and children's blankets and sweaters. Very soft and works up fast.

I love Sugar and Cream and Peaches and Cream and Fantasy Naturale for dishcloths.

I like Cascade 220 and Paton's Merino Wool for felting. I have other wools I have received in swaps that are great also.

4. Cotton yarns I have used are listed above. I am always open to trying new yarns.

5. I use the dishclothes I make as gifts mostly since I have received so many beautiful ones for myself from swaps.

6. My favorite color is any shade of purple but I am open to most colors. I like jewel tones, navy, blues, reds, lavenders, varigated/ombres. Orange is my least favorite color.

7. My kitchen is brown, with lighthouse theme

1 bathroom is blue/beige/lavender with shell theme

2nd bathroom is navy and burgandy with lighthouse theme

8. I like scents like apple, vanilla, light florals, ocean. Not a fan of citrus.

9. Favorite things about summer are , long days, knitting on the beach, picnics, watching grandkids play in sprinklers, eating watermelon and going to outdoor concerts.

10. I dislike the heat and humidity and the mosquitos and ants.

11. I mostly use body wash but do use soaps also.

12. I like light floral scents in the bath. Lilac is my favorite.

13. I don't have a favorite dishcloth pattern. I like all /any patterns.

14. Love all kinds of treats but need to limit treats so would like to pass on them for this swap.

15. Air conditioning works wonders for staying cool, drink iced tea (decaf), and frozen hot chocolate. Sit on beach when I can.

16. Favorite hobby is knitting and crocheting. I like to read but don't have much time for it. I also quilt but also not as much as in the past.

17. Besides knitting and crochet "stuff" I collect lighthouses and shells/beach items.

Well, I finally finished the baby blanket I started in October for our niece, Kelsey! She was born way back in November - but I was very slow knitting.

I started knitting it while on vacation in Maine last fall while we watched the Red Sox win the playoffs. There is a picture in a previous post taken at Acadia National Park.

I had put it aside while I knitted for Christmas, knitting swaps, birthdays and Easter.

I took it back out last month and decided it better be finished before Kelsey grew up! I took it to Boston last month and worked on it at a Red Sox game.

Kelsey's mom and dad were at a the Red Sox game last fall when the Red Sox clinched the American League East pennant. Kelsey was born very shortly after that game. Her middle name is Caroline, because mom and dad were singing Sweet Caroline at the baseball game. I figured it was only right that I work on it at Fenway.

Well, I put it in the mail yesterday and she should have it soon. Hope she likes it. The yarn I used is very soft - Wendy's Velvet Touch. I used double strands of it. 1 strand was a lavender/pink/white mix and I used solid colored yarn in each of those colors thru out. No set pattern. I changed solid colors at random and did a basketweave pattern. I like the way it came out.

Well, I have to go pack. We are going to Boston tomorrow for some Red Sox games - sure hope the weather improves.

Need to pack some yarn to knit some Mother's Day gifts.

Great Weekend - Red Sox take 2 from Texas!

We got to see Lance Armstrong - in the yellow shirt - throw out the first pitch on Saturday night. He was in town to run the marathon. He ran it on Monday in less than 3 hours! Pretty impressive!

Sox came from behind in both games. Very exciting. While everyone was singing Sweet Caroline during the Saturday game the Bruins came from behind to beat the Canadiens in game 6 of the Stanley Cup playoffs. When it was posted on the scoreboard the crowd went wild! When the Sox came back up to bat after we finished singing they went ahead - yeah - and won the game!

Big Papi had a good night - getting out of his slump!

More heroics on Sunday afternoon! Another come from behind win!

Trip to see The Little Mermaid in NYC

This is the ferris wheel INSIDE Toys R Us. Girls enjoyed a ride in the yellow car.

Enjoying a break in M&M World! What a great store!!! Could have spent a couple hours here checking out the M&M's! I bought some Red Sox colored M&M's for me and Mets colored M&M's for my daughter who wasn't able to come with us. Plus a few more things! We went to the Hershey Store also - another great place to visit! Of course we found some things to buy there also! No yarn but lots of goodies!

Two little princesses on the train to NYC. Train was standing room only and a very nice gentleman gave these little ones his seat to share! Very lucky little girls. Grandma and their mommies had to stand all the way! Everyone seemed to pick the same day we did to go to NYC. Luckily on the way home train was less crowded and we got to sit!

Two of my girls and two of my granddaughters strolling the streets enjoying the view. The little one with the purple backpack kept looking up at the buildings and was amazed at all the skyscrapers! Nothing over 6 stories in our hometown and this was both little ones first trip to the big city! We all had a great time and can't wait to go again!

We had lunch at the ESPN Zone and if you haven't been to one of their restaurants - it is very interesting! There are tv's in the bathroom stalls in the ladies room and over the urinals in the mens room - you never have to miss a minute of the ballgame!

After the show the girls checking out the Little Mermaid's picture on the side of the theater. The show was awesome and the girls loved it - so did their mommies and grandma! Amazing how they made you think you were underwater!

Music was fantastic! Will have to get the soundtrack for my IPOD.

What a great day - will have to do this again soon. The girls want to go see The Lion King! Will have to save my pennies (lots of them) so we can go again soon!

The weather was perfect and we had an awesome day! I thought the girls would sleep all the way home but they were so excited they were awake all the way home on the train!

Country Wool Cape Ann Knitting Retreat 4/08

Great weekend! Weather was cold and gloomy but the retreat was wonderful. Claudia from Country Wool did a wonderful job. It was a great group of knitters. Very relaxed and lots of new knitting info. This first picture is from my room. You can see that the weather was gray but still a great view!

This is the pattern and the beautiful yarn I worked with this weekend. The yarn is Peace Fleece. It is a wool/mohair blend. The color is called Moscow Magic Pink. It is pink with little flecks of lavender, red and teal in it. I knitted the first sleeve and about 1/3 of the second by Sunday am. Only had to frog the first sleeve 2 times. Pattern is easy once you get into it. The increases gave me some trouble but with help from the other knitters it worked out! The sweater will be reversible also. I am making a size 8 child's sweater and will see who it fits when I finish it. The sweater works from the bottom up and you add the sleeves as you go. Claudia is just an email away if I run into problems!

You can see the workbook we received from Claudia. I made lots of notes to help me understand things easier. Her worksheets were very clear. I need to mark each row I do so that I can have 2 sleeves that match!

This is a close-up of the pattern - I love the color of the yarn. It looks like cotton candy!

Well, I have packed up all my supplies to take to the Cape Ann Motor Inn this weekend for the Country Wool Knitting Retreat. I leave Friday morning and will return for my granddaughters birthday party on Sunday. The Inn is right on the beach! You can hear the waves all the time - very relaxing! Larry and I stayed there last Oct for a night on our way back from Maine and it was great.

I haven't been there for a retreat yet but am looking forward to it! Knitting on the beach for 3 days! It doesn't get much better!

This is the progress on my daughters afghan. Not much but it is something! I finished a gold section and most of a green section this week. Will keep going! There are going to be 4-5 sections of each color so you can see it has a long way to go! Pattern is very easy - all knit and purl except for 1 pattern row out of 4 rows. Just don't seem to get the time.

I started the afghan above for my daughter about a year ago and as you can see it has a long way to go! I need to make some progress on it and my other WIPs.

I have a baby afghan for a baby who was born in Oct and a few other things that need to be finished!

I need to get to work on these projects and to post my progress! Need to get focused!

No more buying books or yarn until these projects show some progress!

I need 3 more cupcake purses to be finished by Easter and then I promise - no new projects until something in my WIP pile shows some real progress!

OH NO! Just got a postcard for a LYS that is having a 50% off moving sale! UGH!

What a week!

It has been like Christmas this past week! First I got a package from Cindy for the Dishcloth swap, then a package from Laurie for the Crochetoholic swap, then yarn from my daughter from Vermont and now another great package!

Jenn from Ontario, Canada sent me an awesome package for the Knitters Scavenger Hunt! Your can see the great stitch markers she sent. The yellow flowered ones were my Something round and the Hot Cocoa Mugs were the Something hard.

The mouse was my something funny and the vanilla candle tin was the something "T".

This is a closeup of the stitch markers. Aren't they pretty!

Here are the other goodies! The something green is some green Simply Soft yarn, the something special is one of my favorite yarns - Cascade in my favorite color - purple!

The last two items are the something local - a bar of Helping Hand lavender soap made in Canada and an awesome hand knitted dishcloth with a moose design. The dishcloth is made from Bernat yarn made in Canada. The design doesn't show up very well in the photo but it really great!

Goodies from Vermont

My daughter spent a weekend in Vermont and brought me back some wonderful presents! First is a skein of Island Cotton in a gorgeous shade of purple. It is a cotton / rayon mix. Have to find a great pattern for this yarn!

Next is a skein of Regal Silk. 100% handpainted silk and it came with a pattern for a scarf. Very soft! Will make a beautiful scarf!

The last 2 skeins are Araucania hand dyed yarn in a great colorway! It is a wool alpaca mix. This should make something very beautiful.

My daughter and her boyfriend made some great choices. Store owner tried to talk them into other choices but I think their choices are perfect! Thank you Nicki and Ian!

Swap Pictures - finally!

Here they are! I finally figured out how to upload pictures with my new computer!!! These are the wonderful dishcloths that Cindy C sent me for the Defeat the Winter Doldrums Swap. Aren't they cute!

She also sent me these goodies which I described in the last post. The chocolate covered sunflower seeds are delicious! As you can see Cindy sent me some great goodies in my package!

The scent on the candle - Morning Dew - is very relaxing!

And here is another picture of our cat Scoochie playing with the cute fish Chan knitted for me in the Hot Cocoa Swap. Had trouble getting this picture because Scoochie keeps hiding the poor little fish! She has been having a great time with it!

Defeat the Winter Doldrums Dishcloth Swap Package

I returned from Cape Cod last evening to find this wonderful package from Cindy C for the Defeat the Winter Doldrums swap! What a great way chase away the winter doldrums ! She sent me 3 beautiful lime green and white dishcloths in different sizes. They are so cute!

**I am having a difficult time inserting pictures with my new computer so pictures may not be available at this time.**

She also sent me some great Sugar and Cream yarn in purple, lavender and green colors. Will make some wonderful projects!

She sent me a scented candle in a Morning Dew scent that makes me wish spring was here already - very relaxing scent!

I also received a delicious chocolate bar, some yummy hot chocolate and some chocolate covered sunflower seeds - also very delicious!

Cindy C. also sent me a cute little notions bag in almost the same colors as some of the yarn. I will be perfect for holding some of my stitch markers!

Thank you Cindy C. It is a wonderful package and has definitely helped chase away the winter doldrums!

These are pictures of a shipwreck on a beach in Wellfleet, MA on Cape Cod last week. It washed up in late January. They think it is from around 1820-1850. Really interesting to see the construction. All wood pegs holding it together. Don't know how long it will be there - it may wash out with the next tide or storm. I am going back there next week and hope it is still there so I can show it to my kids and grandkids.

Hot Cocoa Swap package from Channon!

Wow, what a perfect day to receive such a wonderful package! It snowed last night then rained all day today and is dreary and wet. Our basement is flooded and it is cold and damp. But I feel great because I received my package for the Hot Cocoa swap from Channon today! The mailman even put the box on our front porch in a plastic bag to protect it from the heavy rain! This is what I unpacked from the box! All wrapped so pretty!
This is what I received. Some AWESOME dark purple yarn, catnip, biscotti, awesome hot cocoa filled canister, hot cocoa packets, a cute tape measue with a crocheted cover, stitch markers and a wonderful buddy - a knitted felted fish!
These are the beautiful purple stitch markers I received. Channon got them from Mary at Blume's Accesories on Etsy. Mary makes wonderful things - so pretty - you should check her out! And isn't the tape measure the cutest! I will need to hide it from my grandkids! They keep "borrowing" my sheep and ladybug tape measures and I have to rescue them! I love the colors - so spring like.
This is a closeup of the beautiful Malabrigo Kettle Dyed Merino Wool yarn! It is awesome! It is so soft I can't stop petting it! And the color is so perfect. I have heard people talk about this yarn but never had any before. Can't wait to find a project for it - for ME! And don't you just LOVE the fish! My kitty Scoochie loves it! Channon left the mouth open so I could put catnip in it. I will post pictures later of Scoochie loving her new toy!

Dishcloth Stash Pictures for Defeat the Winter Doldrums Topic of the week

This is a picture of the yarn in my dishcloth stash. I think it is all here but I am sure a few stray skeins got away when I was rounding these up!
Unfortunatley Michael's is having a sale on Sugar and Cream this week and I think my car will probably drive me there soon! I just can't control it!
This is a favorite of mine. Fantasy Naturale. Has a nice sheen and works up nice. Colors are fantastic. I also use this yarn to make crocheted ponchos for my granddaughters.
This a picture of my latest projects. The needles are the ones I use most often. On the left are my size 7 Addi's and the red size 7 needles are actually kids needles but work great for dishcloths. These are pretty much the only supplies except for my scissors that I use for dishcloths. I did not take a picture of my patterns. Have many from the web and lots of booklets with patterns. The dishcloth was made yesterday while I worked the at the polls here. I was there from 5am - 830pm. Great chance for knitting between voters. Very high turnout here! Only able to finish one dishcloth and start a second.
Close up of my Peaches and Cream and my Sugar and Cream. Great color selection and easy to find at local stores. I know there are some more solids around here somewhere but they are pretty good at avoiding me. The Cotton Tots pictured also works for dishcloths - it is a little softer than the others.
Well, I better put this stash away! Need to keep it safe! Never know when a yarn drought might happen!

I forgot to post a picture of the special knitting bag I received for Christmas from 2 of my grandchildren ( the ballerina and her trainer from previous post). It is really cool!
The bag in the center is large enough to hold most projects and came with the 2 containers you see. The one on the left has a scarf and pattern WIP and the one on the right has a dishcloth WIP(for a daughter) and a bag that holds WIP my dishcloth supplies. It has 3 skeins of cotton in it along with needles and patterns.
Ladies at a LYS admired it when I went to purchase yarn for a swap and when I told them my daughter picked it out - they said I trained her well!
This is a cute cupcake bag I crocheted from a kit I ordered on Etsy from Amy Gaines. Very cute, very easy, and very reasonable. Everything came it the kit - the yarn, crochet hook, beads and sewing needle. Oh, and the pattern also. For only $10.00. Takes an evening to make. Good thing it is quick because I need to make 3 more. All the girls love cupcakes and like their grandma they like bags/purses! Will make a cute Valentine or Easter present. I have some yarns I want to try to customize them. I also received a pattern for 2 knitted versions and some other purse patterns from Amy's Etsy store. Service prompt and prices good. Pretty flowers and patterns

My granddaughters gave me these pretty flowers. I love yellow roses! Actually I love flowers! Helps chase away the winter blues!
My anonymous swap pal asked about a pattern for the cookies I crocheted for a swap pal. I don't have link for the cookie pattern. My grandmother taught me to make them many years ago. Basically you crochet 3 cookie layers - 2 brown, 1 white - and layer them like a cookie and sew them together. This picture is of one I received many years ago.
I usually chain 4 join
Work 12 dc in ring, join
Work 2dc in each dc around , join
end off leaving long tail and use that tail to sew the 3 layers together. I sew right thru the three layers just inside the edge of the cookies. You can add a magnet to the back, eyes and face or crochet a chain to top and hang on Christmas tree.
I use worsted weight yarn and usually use a velvet, velour or chenille for the white center to get a different texture for the filling.
I use a G or H hook but you can use any weight yarn or needles to make the size cookie you want.

Also had a request for legwarmer pattern. I had a lot of trouble find kid sized pattern. Lion Brand has a pattern I used to make a couple pairs at Christmas. It is free and they also have a crocheted version. It is on their website at Lionbrand.com.
The pattern for the pair I just finished came after a few tries.
Basic idea was to
Start at the bottom of legwarmer using a pair of size 8 needles
Cast on 30 with color A
knit K3P3 ribbing for 10 rows with color A
Change to color B and do Stockinette stitch for 20 rows
Change to color A and continue in Stockinette for 10 rows
Continue with Color A and do K3P3 ribbing for 10 rows.(this forms cuff when folded down)
My granddaughter wanted a cuff at the top and doing the K3P3 worked well.
I used Sensations Angel Hair yarn that I received for Christmas. It had a funny feel to it but worked up nicely. I have also used Lion Brand Jiffy yarn.
I worked them flat on size 8 needles. They can be worked in the round also. I have made a pair with a cotton /acrylic mix also. Just need to adjust needle and # stitches for differnt yarns. These have fit ages 3-5. Just make them longer/shorter as needed.
Hope these patterns make sense! If they don't leave me a comment or email me and I will try to clear up any questions.
My new computer has been ordered - YEAH!! Should be here within the week. YEAH!! It is a laptop - which I have wanted for a long time. My old MAC died over 3 years ago. Using a desktop after having a laptop just doesn't cut it! It is also an Apple which I love. Just have to get back in the MAC mode and out of the PC mode!

Pattern from LeslieJ and FOs

Finally getting around to posting a picture of the pattern I received from LeslieJ for the January Crochetoholic swap. I took the picture of it with the yarn she sent to make it with! The purple yarn doesn't show well but is beautiful. Hope to make them soon. Need to finish some WIP first! Thnaks Leslie! It is a pattern I have wanted to try!
These are the "almost" finished legwarmers I am making for my 5yo granddaughter. She picked out the yarn and the pattern! Very colorful!
This dishcloth also got finished this week! Hopefully I am ready to get down to work now and finish some of my other WIP! The baby blanket I started in OCT and the agfgan for my daughter started last winter need some priority knitting time!
Last but not least a look at how the legwarmers will look once the back seam is sewn.
I need to get moving on my current WIP because there are many new things I want to start and I am also going to a knitting retreat in MA the first weekend in April.

I DID IT!

I finally got the 2 packages off for my swaps! They have been in the living room for a week now and I just couldn't get to the post office. "Things" just kept happening and I wasn't getting moving this week!
Laurie C should receive her package for the Crochetoholic's January Swap the beginning of the week. Just in time for me to start thinking about the Feb swap! The theme was "White" this month. Think I manged to get the right number of white items plus some other goodies in her package.
The other package went to my partner in the Hot Cocoa swap and since it is a secret swap I can not tell you who it is yet in case she happens to stop by. This one was easy to put together except for the knit/crochet buddy we had to make. After much searching I made some little oreo cookie magnets with google eyes. Can't think of anyone that wouldn't smile for an oreo! Hope she feels the same way! Will post pictures soon.
Also have to post a picture of the felted clog pattern I received from LeslieJ in the Jan swap. They are on my list to try when I catch up with my WIPs. Will find the camera and post tonight!
Ready to get started putting together the packages for my next 2 swaps - the Defeat the Winter Doldrums dishcloth swap and the Knitters Scavenger Hunt.
I ordered some things for the DWDS should receive them in plenty of time. Need to choose a dishcloth pattern to make and get started. I want to try something different this time. Excited about choosing the right pattern for my partner. Have been checking out her blog to get ideas. Very Interesting!
The scavenger hunt will take some serious thinking. It is different. Will have to get my ideas together and get going so I can get it all together in time. Have been visiting her blog also for ideas.
Spent many hours the last 2 days trying to get Red Sox tickets online from the Red Sox site. No luck! Never even got to pick seats. Keep getting a message that there is high volume and can't process at this time. Spent most of my time in a "virtual waiting room" where they pick out people randomly. You think a team with all their money could do a simple thing like sell tickets without a major hassle. I think they ( and other teams and concert promoters) would rather sell on places like stub hub and make more money! We were able to get tickets to some games thru a friend and from a tour bus company so we will see 8 games but none of the tickets were at face value.
Well, better get some knitting done! Will post those pictures soon!

Just trying to finish what I started in the fall! Doesn't matter the project or the yarn this time of year.

#3 What is the most 'random' memory you have from your childhood? I know it's not knitting content, but I love learning about the little quirks and interesting things about people!

I think one of my favorite random memories is going to the corner store with my grandfather early on a Sat morning to get his newspaper with him and having him give me a quarter to buy penny candy with! It always took me a long time and he never rushed me - he just talked to the other customers. I would get enough candy to have for the whole week! A quarter went a long way then!

Weekly Topic: Dishrag. Dishcloth. Face cloth. I've seen folks get all fired up in forums when someone refers to their knit or crochet creation as a dishrag, as that's somehow offensive to them! When you're working on yours, what do you call them? Also, is there a difference between a dishrag and a dishcloth? How about a facecloth? Are they all really the same thing?

All names are fine with me - they just define the use. They are all the same thing to me when I am making them - once I use them that is when I name them. I don't multi use them. If I use it as a dishcloth it stays a dishcloth and if I use it as a face or wash cloth it remains one.

Got home from work today to find a package - YEAH! - waiting for me on the front porch! This 1st picture shows the beautiful card I received from Leslie with my package for the January Crochetoholic Swap! Isn't it pretty!
The next picture shows all the pretty packages wrapped in white - this months theme. Pretty paper with white dots on it!

These are all the wonderful things I received from Leslie! There is some great hand cream for my super dry hands, bath flakes for the rest of my dry body, delicious hot cocoa with marshmallows for a special treat, a really cute photo mouse pad -what a great idea! -, a cute puzzle I can do with the little ones and some awesome Patons Merino and Fun Fur yarn!
The color doesn't show up very well - sorry Leslie - because the Patons Merino is a fantastic royal purple! And there is an accent skein of white fun fur to go with it. The pattern is arriving separately so it is still a surprise. Can't wait to see it!

Saturday night when I returned home from a long day/night at work I had a wonderful package waiting for me! It is from Jane/Grammieknits who made me this beautiful gift for the "Pay it Forward" challenge. It is a FIDGET! I love it! It is a scarflet. It is so soft and warm! The buttons are perfect with the yarn - which is my favorite color - purple! Not just any purple but a warm shaded purple. I can't wait to try to make one for someone. Jane you do such beautiful work and I love this gift. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this challenge and I will definitely "Pay It Forward". Remember Jane - only 37 more days until spring training!
Then yesterday I received this package of goodies from Priscilla for the Dec Crochetoholic Swap. I can't wait to make the little Christmas people. I am not a fast knitter/crocheter so I will have plenty of time to make some for my grandchildren for next Christmas. I have some cute crocheted snowpeople that my grandmother made me many years ago and my grandchildren love to play with them. They often ask to take them home but now I can make them their own!

Priscilla also sent me some yarn to make the cute items which also include some cute peppermint coaster! I got some great chocolates which my daughter claimed and some delicious hot chocolate which I will hide for myself! The pencil and pen and 2 snowmen ornaments are adorable! I even have stickies with my initial on them. Priscilla sent me some Christmas music which I will enjoy and a cute little snowman snowglobe!

Hot Cocoa Swap Questionnaire

I love cocoa anyway at all! Would rather have a big mug than a tea cup so I can fit in more whipped cream or marshmallow topping! One of my favorites besides hot cocoa is to have a Frozen Hot Chocolate - awesome!

Love fresh whipped cream or marshmallow Fluff. But marshmallows are great also! Especially the special flavor ones.

What is your favorite type of yarn? In what colors?
Love most yarns. Not a big fan of novelty yarns but do use some for accents. Purple and jewel tones are my favs. Least favs probably orange or yellow but do use those for some projects.

2. Do you knit or crochet (or both)?
Enjoy doing both!

3. What are your favorite type of needles, would you like to try something new?
Knitting I use different types depending on the yarn/project. I prefer circulars or shorter straight needles. I use shorter DPN needles also. Shorter or circular are easier to maneuver. I don't use my long straight needles very often anymore. I use bamboo, wood, addi's, all types of materials.
For crocheting I use most brands - except Boye. I can't get comfortable with them.

4. Do you have a healthy supply of notions?
OH YES! One of my projects for the New Year is to organize them. I have a whole room full of craft supplies in dire need if organizing!

5. What one thing do you keep thinking you need to buy for your knitting habit (outside of yarn)?
Things to organize my "stuff".

The start of baseball season. We already have tickets to 8 games to see the 2007 World Champion Boston Red Sox play! Spring training starts in 38 days! My first games are April 19th and 20th vs Texas. Can't wait.

Also I am going to Cape Ann in Gloucester, Mass. for a knitting weekend April 4th-6th. I can't wait!!!!! The hotel is right on the beach and you can see an island off shore with 2 lighthouses and can hear the waves from your room.

6. What are your favorite treat?
Food Treats:
I have to limit sweets for health reasons but can still have them in limited amounts so they are even more special to me.
Chocolate is my favorite treat - especially dark chocolate. I recently bought a chocolate fountain and it is awesome! There are so many things you can dip in chocolate! I have only used it once so far - on New Years Day but can't wait for another chance to use it!
Hot cocoa is one of my favorite ways to enjoy chocolate. I love to sit and relax with a cup of cocoa in the evening when it is nice and quiet.
Non Food treats:
Candles, shopping and putting my feet up while relaxing listening to music on my Ipod.

7. What is your favorite board game?
Don't play board games much anymore. Have played some Disney memory games with the grandkids. Disney Scene It might be fun to try.

These are the projects I finished just in time for Christmas. I finished 2 other scarves for Christmas swaps but forgot to take pictures before I mailed them! The top picture is 3 pairs of legwarmers for my granddaughters. I didn't have a pattern small enough for them so had to improvise. Took a few tries but they finally seemed to work. Will try to get pictures of them on their tiny little legs!
The 1st scarf was for my DIL and the 2nd on for my daughter. Both basic seed stitch but the green one from a wool acrylic blend and the purple one wool. Very quick knits.
I also made fleece blankets from Pittsburgh Steelers fabric for my other daughter and my son. I made a Mets fleece blanket for my other daughter and a Yankee fleece blanket for my SIL. Had to wear gloves to prevent burning my hands while touching the Yankee fleece and sanitize the table after making the Yankee blanket! Finished the last gift at 3am Christmas Eve morning. Since we exchange gifts Christmas Eve it was right down to the wire like every other year!

Just a quick post to let my secret Santa from Jane's Designs's Secret Santa Swap that the gift is still UNOPENED and under the Christmas tree. My granddaughter tried to convince my BF that it was for her and it was ok to open but he said he didn't think Grandma would think so. Nice try!
Also I stashed the Godiva candy bar from my Christmas Around the World secret pal so I can enjoy it. I had to hide it from the kids!

Thank you very much to my Secret Santa from Jane's Design group!
I received this great package today. The first picture shows how it was beautifully wrapped. It is so pretty. The silver package is not to be opened until 12/24 so will be the first present under my tree!
As you can see, I have opened the green package which was marked "open me now!". It contained some very pretty ornaments for my tree - which I will be putting up tomorrow! There is also some Christmas scented hand soap, a candle- yummy white chocolate mint scented - a cute lighthouse to add to my collection, and a beautiful knitted dishcloth! What a great job she did on the dishcloth. It will be out on my sink for all to see!
I can't wait for 12/24 to open my other present! Shook it gently but no clue yet! Will just have to be patient. Will try to shake it only a couple times a day!

FALL FELTED BAG PARTNER 'S CAMERA NOT WORKING SO I AM POSTING A PICTURE FOR HER. THIS IS THE BAG I SENT TO JENEAN. SORRY THE PICTURE IS SO DARK. THE YARN IS FROM KNIT PICKS AND THE COLOR IS "CAPE COD" EASY CHOICE FOR ME!
I HAD SOME TROUBLE DECIDING ON THE HANDLES. I RECEIVED THE PATTERN FROM JUNE WHO MADE ME THIS SAME BAG FOR ANOTHER EXCHANGE. SHE MADE MINE RED WITH BLACK TRIM AND WITH PRETTY BLACK HANDLES AND LINED IT WITH BEAUTIFUL RED FABRIC. I TRIED BAMBOO HANDLES BUT THEY DIDN'T LOOK RIGHT AND I DIDN'T WANT KNITTED ONES THIS TIME SO USED DRAPERY CORDING. WORKED OUT WELL. I had a great exchange but have read that some people haven't heard from their partners. I hope their next experience is better and that the problems they may have had don't make them stop exchanging. The hostesses do a great job of finding angels and making sure everyone gets spoiled.

Fall Into Autumn Dishcloth Package from Jen C.

Thank you very much Jen C. It feels like Christmas here this week! What a great package! This is a picture of the cute dishcloth and stitch markers Jen made me sitting on the pretty pumpkin dish she sent me. Aren't they great!
She did a great job on the dishcloth - I love the colors and pattern! The dish is already on my sofa table filled with sweets.
These pictures show the goodies when the arrived and after I opened them. They were wrapped so pretty - but I couldn't wait to open them!
Jen sent me lots of fun things! In addition to the great dishcloth there were patterns for 2 more plus the yarn(Peaches and Cream and Sugar and Cream) to make them. Also a booklet with even more patterns. There was a notions bag, a memo pad, wonderfully scented pumpkin candles in great fall colors, citrus hand cream, and kitty treats for my fresh kitty! You can see a yellow bag that was filled with more goodies - post its, lollipops that grandkids will love, and a great selection of cider packets. Can't wait o try them!
